African Ceremonial Mask, classic Dan style with oval eyes. Impressive in its simplicity. Ribbons of striped fabric material on each side - probably hand-loomed native cotton. Numerous irregularly sized and shaped holes around perimeter for holding raffia and fabric when danced. ca. late 20th Century. Maker unknown. Acquired from Keith Barton, owner of Les Primitifs Gallery, Chicago, IL in 1980’s.
