Australian Aboriginal Art Desert Painting “Tingari Cycle” by Walala Tjapaltjarri/Pintupi.

Walala Tjapaltjarri walked out of the Gibson Desert with his family in 1984, making their first contact with Europeans at that time.

He began to paint his own works in 1996, following years of watching and helping the old men painters in Kiwrrikura and Kintore. His style is distinctive and recognized world-wide.

His subjects are Tingari Cycle stories, which recount travels during the creation time of a group of mythical characters of the Dreamtime. This painting depicts secret/sacred ceremonies associated with Tingari.

His paintings often sell for thousands of dollars in Australia.
