A descendant of Chief Dan George, Artie George was born in North Vancouver. He carves miniatures and larger original works of indigenous Coastal native art. The works, while sometimes considered "copies" by the uninitiated, are actually each individually hand carved. He carves in deep relief and his miniatures, in particular, offer inexpensive ventures into Salish art and culture. His art is held in collections around the world. #AGDi77
